Roles and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating user-centric, innovative solutions to web design issues in an effort to make the website more effective and supportive of our customers while enhancing functionality. Key responsibilities include creating a codebase that is maintainable, extendable, simple, and clean while working on both small projects and large-scale company-wide initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain best practices for JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Build responsive modules for our custom CMS
- Collaborate with design and backend team on API's and design viability
- Multitask and prioritize front-end development tasks at a high-performance level on a tight schedule
- Refactor existing code and fix bugs while prioritizing stability, consistency, and simplicity
- Code review participation
- Juggle current projects with new incoming tasks
- Evaluate design deliverables for build feasibility and provide constructive feedback to internal clients
Required Experience
- Mastery of HTML5 and CSS3
- 5+ years JavaScript
A Successful Candidate must have
- Ability to write optimized, maintainable code in a functional programming style
- Experience with responsive web design, particularly Flexbox and Grid
- Experience working with REST API's
- Experience with web page optimization techniques and SEO best practices
- Experience with Git, contemporary frontend build processes, NPM scripts, and/or similar tools
- Eye for design and attention to detail
- Ability to take a feature/page from scoping requirements through to launch
- Ability to work well with others. We are a fairly small team and collaboration is often required.
Proficient with
- Jenkins
- Git
- Docker
- Atlassian Tools Jira, Stash
- Some Unix command line knowledge
- NPM Scripts for builds
Experience Advantage
- Front end library experience Angular/React/Vue or similar
