About Oikos Orchard and Farm
Oikos Orchard and Farm is a regenerative and innovative farm enterprise pioneering value-adding in fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices through agro-processing, packaging, and sustainable product development. As part of our Shared Service Facility (SSF) Program with the Department of Trade and Industry and DOST Innivation Hub, we are expanding our product lines to include dehydrated produce, teas, bottled drinks, natural seasonings, and other wellness-oriented food innovations.
We are seeking a Food Technician who will spearhead research, development, and processing initiatives that turn our fresh produce into market-ready, high-value products.
Job Description
The Food Technician will be responsible for:
Researching, developing, and innovating new products from fruits, herbs, spices, and vegetables (e.g., dehydrated products, teas, spice blends, bottled drinks, seasonings).
Designing and improving food preservation methods such as dehydration, powderization, and safe storage.
Conducting product testing for taste, quality, safety, and shelf-life.
Developing cost-effective formulations aligned with farm production and market demand.
Ensuring compliance with food safety standards, FDA/DTI regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Designing attractive and sustainable packaging concepts.
Coordinating with farm production, marketing, and partner agencies for scaling up production.
Proposing initiatives for continuous product improvement and new product lines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field.
Preferably with at least 1-2 years experience in food processing, product development, or quality assurance (fresh graduates with strong R&D exposure may also apply).
Knowledge in dehydration, food preservation, natural food products, and packaging systems.
Strong creativity in developing healthy, sustainable, and marketable products.
Familiarity with regulatory compliance (FDA, DTI, BFAD standards) is an advantage
Excellent teamwork, research, and documentation skills.
