About Your Client:
You will support a real estate investment firm that has made it to the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing U.S. companies every year from 2016 to 2020. They've enjoyed 8 continuous years of rapid growth and built up a portfolio of US$250 million in assets under management. These include investment properties in 10 states in the U.S. and in Spain.
Plus they're wonderful corporate citizens, too: they help raise funding to support research on Rett Syndrome, a rare neurological condition that impacts young girls. If you love the values of being intellectually curious and pursuing relentless progress, you will be a good fit.
What You Will Do:
Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial packages for management, lenders, and investors.
Analyze and modify financial reports as needed.
Create and update monthly schedules that support the balance sheet and certain line items in the income statement.
Oversee and work with multiple property management companies to ensure accurate and timely financials are delivered monthly.
Continue to improve the efficiency of accounting records management as well as the monthly closing process.
Adjust journal entries.
Balance intercompany transactions.
Review, reconcile, and track investor payments.
Implement and create standard operating procedures.
Oversee bank reconciliations.
Prepare financial management reports and assist the Property Manager for monthly meetings with the executives.
Address tax notices.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
3+ years previous experience in a Controller role required.
3+ years in property management Accounting/Bookkeeping experience preferred.
Positive and friendly attitude.
Extremely organized and focused on timeliness, accuracy, and process improvement.
Proficient in data/bill pay entry and cut off concepts.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and paperless process.
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and think outside the box.
