Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily bookkeeping tasks and accurately prepare financial statements to be submitted within deadline
- Ensure timely preparation, filing and payment of all corporate tax returns to avoid penalties
- Conduct and document scheduled and on-demand reviews to assess internal control environment of all companies
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the company, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Performance management and will coach team members to help them reach their full potential and become solid contributors in the finance department
Experience and Skills:
- The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 5 years of corporate experience and a CPA
- Strong knowledge of risk & internal controls with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks based on materiality
- Highly motivated, and able to self-identify emerging issues and develop responses on own initiative
- Able to multitask by carrying a diverse and complex workload
- Possesses creativity and uses initiative to develop new processes towards improvement of controls
- Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
- Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.
- Self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency.
