Working as a member of the Record to Report (R2R) Team within the Finance Shared Service Hub, the primary purpose of the job is to provide business units general accounting and internal control support, including preparation and posting of journal entries, maintenance of balance sheet accounts, completion of the month end closing transactions/procedures and ensuring that the general ledger account balances and trial balances are appropriately reconciled. She/he is also responsible for completeness, accuracy and fixed asset and intercompany accounts, customer billings and bank reconciliations. It is expected that the Finance specialist will drive strong working relationship with the stakeholders & Finance Shared Service Management, and ensure the service is delivered in accordance to the defined SLAs/KPIs
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
Bachelor's or associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work on their own as well as part of the team
Knowledge in using accounting system, MS Office software (AXAPTA, SAP, Oracle o similar platform), comfortable with technology
Desirable:
Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Start-up experience of Shared Service Centre environment an advantage
Experience in Pharmaceutical environments is a plus

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Finance Specialist, you will be performing various tasks within the Record-to- Report process including but not limited to:
Preparing journal entries, recurring and allocation journal entries, collecting adequate supporting documentation
Process interfaces into GL from Payroll, T&E application, Excel template uploads, allocations
Update exchange rates and Process foreign currency revaluation
Perform preliminary variance analysis and research and resolve errors relating to misallocation or under accrual, prepare correcting entries and supporting documentation.
Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliation and submit additional statutory and disclosure data to and monthly management account package.
Reconciles the Intercompany receivable and payable balance by verifying discrepancies, and proposing solutions for reconciling items. Matches payment details against open invoices.
Prepares and post the journal entry related to the identified IC reconciling items (bank charges, forex difference, cash pool transactions)
Receive and reconcile intercompany payments and statements and escalate queries and resolve outstanding issues.
Support the review and update of the Finance information relevant to customer and vendor master data in the accounting system according to Global and Regional standards within a set service level to meet business needs.
Responsible for issuance of ICO billings to affiliates specifically for countries in APAC region
Applies cash receipts to open invoices
Prepare and present account status updates for aging reviews and month end comments
