Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented professional for the role of a Finance Manager. The Finance Manager is responsible for overall oversight of financial management in the Habitat-Hilti Project in Negros Occidental, forecasting and realignment of operational and project budgets, ensuring compliance with both HFHI and HFHP financial policies and procedures, local laws and donor regulations.
This position will be based in: Bacolod, Negros Occidental
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Project Finance Function: Provide direct oversight to ensure that all transactions and financial reports in the assigned program/project are in compliance with finance policies, local laws and accounting standards, as well as donor requirements. Act as Finance liaison to external and internal auditors
- Oversee internal controls: oversee the development, implementation, monitoring of internal control processes of the organization and partners to ensure internal controls are in compliance with HFHP and HFHI policies and donor requirements
- Grant Management: Oversee financial grant management, coordinate with other departments in budget preparation, ensure grant transactions are recorded and financial reports are produced correctly, appropriately, and in compliance with grant agreements and organizational policies and procedures. Work with HFH Philippines
- Head of Finance and HFHI AP Regional Finance Manager to ensure that required financial reports are submitted to the donor
- Analyze financial and statistical information: Analyze the financial reports on regular basis; track key indicators and timelines; prepare and update cash flows projections. Work with Chief of Party and Senior Project Manager in monitoring of project finances
- Oversee budget management: establish and implement budget control and monitoring mechanisms; track expenses vs budget, analyze variances, advise management about possible over/under expenditure and recommend corrective actions
- Undertake field visits to validate systems and procedures followed and train partners on applicable accounting and reporting requirements
- Oversight of procurement and logistic activities to ensure that materials needed are processed on time
- Oversight of inventory management to ensure that flow of materials, supplies, equipment, and goods needed by the project is managed according to HFHP policy and is responsive to the needs of the project. Perform internal control checks to ensure inventory is presented accurately in the financial records
- Performs other job-related duties as may be assigned from time to time
- Perform coaching and other performance management duties to direct report
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree holder in Accounting/Finance
- Certified Public Accountant
- Minimum of 5 years of Supervisory/Managerial Level in Finance
- Experience working in the non-profit sector is preferred
- Experience in project management and supporting project managers
- Experience in grant financial management
