We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance and Accounting Supervisor with 3-5 years of supervisory experience to lead our accounting team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to apply their expertise in overseeing financial operations, managing a team of accounting professionals, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll processing, tax compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement analysis.
2. Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
3. Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
4. Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other financial transactions prepared by staff accountants.
5. Provide guidance and training to accounting staff, ensuring that team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
6. Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
8. Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends and variances, and provide recommendations for improvement.
9. Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions, including vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections.
10. Manage relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and other third-party service providers, ensuring compliance with audit and tax requirements.
11. Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and realistic financial projections.
12. Conduct regular financial statement analysis to assess the company's financial health and performance, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
13. Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and communicate updates to accounting staff as needed.
14. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to accounting staff, recognizing achievements and addressing areas for improvement.
15. Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
3. CPA certification preferred.
4. Strong technical accounting skills and in-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
5. Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
6. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
7. Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
8. Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and process optimization.
9. Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
10. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships.
