Position Description:
Position Title: Film and Video Editor
Classification: Associate
Salary Grade: 25,000 - 35,000
Reports To: President
Primary Relationships: Sales & Marketing Team
Date(s): January - February 2021
Background:
We are looking for a talented Video Editor to assemble pre-recorded footage into a finished project that matches the team's vision and is suitable for broadcasting. There will be instances in which we ask you to develop and shoot the raw footage needed to create content. Ultimately, as a Film and Video Editor, you should be able to bring sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story.
Schedule:
Working Schedule: Flexible - (Primary Schedule 9 am to 6 pm Philippine Time) - Secondary Schedule (5 am to 2 pm Philippine Time)
Responsibilities May Include:
- This job requires high attention to detail.
- Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
- Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes' value and contribution to continuity
- Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
- Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects
- Create rough and final cuts
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
- Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry best practices to maximize efficiency.
Requirements:
- BS degree in film studies, cinematography, or related field
- Proven work experience as a Video Editor
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, - Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, and Final Cut)
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
- Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
- Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
- Creative mind and storytelling skills
- Time-management and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meticulously
- Attention to detail
- Deadline-oriented
- Desktop publishing tools and video design software
Experience:
A minimum of 2-3 years in social media management or like experience as a social media associate.
