JOB DESCRIPTION
A Field Technician for Towers is responsible for providing support to maintain, install and troubleshoot telecommunication equipment at tower sites. The technician has to work closely with the operations team and clients to ensure that all the work is carried out as per the required standards.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair work on telecommunication towers and associated equipment.
Conduct safety assessments to ensure compliance with safety standards before conducting any work on the towers
Install and retrofit telecommunication equipment such as antennas, transmission lines, and associated electronic equipment.
Communicate with clients and supervisors to address issues related to the maintenance of towers and equipment, and coordinate field operations
Ensure that all work is carried out on time within budget, and at the highest quality standard
Create and maintain detailed documentation of the work performed, materials used, and equipment utilized
Attend training sessions to improve skills and knowledge of tower technology, site safety regulations, and policies
JOB QUALIFICATION
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Some trade college training or associate degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred
Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in tower maintenance, installation, or repair work
Ability to climb tower structures, heights up to 400 feet, and work in all weather conditions
Experience in operating heavy equipment is preferred
Knowledge of electrical wiring, electronic components, and mechanical equipment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required
