FAILURE ANALYSIS ENGINEER
 
A. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
 
1. Provide timely failure analysis of customer products retuned under RMA or internal product under
mass production abnormalities including root cause analysis
2. Evaluate RMAs and internal products under mass production for non-conformance and coordinated with design, supply chain, production, and R &D to restore units to customer specifications
3. Evaluate electrical, thermal and mechanical characteristics of integrated circuits, components,
sub-components and systems to determine root cause of failure.
4. Analyze failure reports and recommend corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of problems in coordination with the relevant personnel, team or customers.
5. Develop, record and perform various failure analysis on systems and components to identify root cause.
6. Develop formal failure analysis report data and findings of complaint and other groups after analysis completion and discuss through presentation meeting with related personnel, team and customers.
7. Assist the Quality Manager to ensure the company quality systems meet both industry and regulatory standards.
 
B. JOB SPECIFICATIONS
 
Educational Background:
Graduate of any engineering course like Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) or Computer Engineering (ComE).
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years related experience of failure analysis of electrical / electronic products.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitude:
a. Possess average engineering knowledge
b. Knowledgeable in electrical and electronic components functions and operations
c. Expert in testing and troubleshooting, using of engineering tools like DMM, LCR, oscilloscopes, etc. and use of computer aided simulation, circuit and PCB design tools
d. Having high analytical, technical skills and adeptly knowledgeable in using problem solving tools and techniques (such as 8D analysis, RCA, FMEA, FTA, etc).
e. Able to interpret or read schematic diagrams
f. Strong communication skills both in verbal and written
g. Possesses basic supervisory and management skills including pro-active, assertive and goal-oriented
h. Can work under pressure and handle multiple tasks, enforce deadlines
i. Able to work independently with less supervision
j. Can maintain accurate and details records
k. Good team player
