Position Description:
Position Title: Junior Industrial Engineer
Classification: Rank and File
Salary Grade: 15,000 to 20,000
Reports To: Account Manager
Primary Relationships: Account Manager, Client

Main Role(s)
-Quoting, Reading Plans, Ordering, and Stock Control
-Putting together quotes (calculating materials and labor needed)
-Reading measurements
Scope and Purpose:
Industrial engineers find ways to prevent waste and inefficiency in production processes. You will design efficient systems that integrate workers, information, machines, energy and materials to make products or provide services. This position will also design equipment to coordinate production planning to minimize production issues and costs while ensuring products meet quality standards. You will design, ----develop and maintain manufacturing routes to maximize effectiveness, efficiency and space. You will also -work in a support role as needed on less complex projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Coordinating production in line with project requirements and in conjunction with other disciplines
-Reading plans and having knowledge of glass & windows, as well as some type of building knowledge
-Estimating - putting together quotes and working out what is needed for the job with material and labor.
-Receive quotes back from suppliers and put quotes together
-Ordering and reading measurements
-Understanding what goods need to be ordered and to be able to place the order, while learning and understands where and how the company sources their materials
-Reading of plans
-Stock control
-Eye for and attention to detail
Skills & Qualifications:
-Good knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineering terminology is helpful
-Able to demonstrate the ability to undertake the above responsibilities
-Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
-Detail-oriented and a high level of accuracy in work product
-Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
-Experience working in building services environment
-Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Experience:
-Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Industrial or Civic, or related field
-Knowledge of building materials is required for this role
-AutoCAD Software is a plus, but not necessarily needed for the role
-Basic knowledge of computers, data entry, MS Office, and Google Suite are a plus
Working Conditions:
-The work schedule is Australian business hours, starting in the morning and finishing in the afternoon
-Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 4 PM, AUS business hours
-Walking, standing, reaching, pulling, speaking, hearing, etc. abilities are required to operate within the environment
-Duties are performed within an open office environment using office computer equipment
-Involves regularly sitting in front of and utilizing a computer
