Responsibilities may include:
Development work in support of a broad range of Embedded Processor products, front end and application specific signal processing devices comprising of advanced Integrated Circuits that address Automotive and Industrial markets
Collaborate and work in a team environment with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality and Reliability in all aspects of new product development, production release to accomplish goals and objectives
Design bench evaluation PCBs (printed circuit boards) and generating characterizations programs for bench evaluations
Perform evaluation, debug and characterization of integrated circuits to ensure they meet the product requirement specifications and manufacturing requirements
Work with failure analysis (FA) to determine root cause of any reliability and qualification failures
Work with process and package technology development to develop and qualify technologies for new product development
Work closely with the global manufacturing facilities to address customer specific product quality, yield management and cost reductions issues on mature products. Scope of work could include new product development, product spins and derivatives
The selected candidate will thrive in a challenging and fast-paced environment working in a global role with members of the EPD team in the Philippines and across the world including internal and external TI sites. This role is expected to deliver a high level of technical contribution to the EPD Product Lines with focus on Operational Efficiency Improvements and Gross Margin improvements, including Assembly BOM and Test Qualifications and Test hardware and software conversions. These key objectives will be achieved through innovative development work to drive operational excellence for the EPD business. The nature of this role, while technically and functionally challenging, will be highly rewarding in both professional and personal development for the selected candidate.
The role requires a unique set of skills both from a global and local perspective. The nature of the technologies which are developed within the EPD business makes the engineers working in this market space highly specialized and uniquely valuable in TI. Furthermore, this position offers a great opportunity to work with multiple businesses in a very broad environment impacting the entire EPD business.
Qualified candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, (or related engineering field), and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar Product & Test Engineering role are required. He/She should be already familiar with existing TI Systems for product documentation repositories and processes and have demonstrated the ability to successfully identify areas for improvement in probe and test operations, propose innovative solutions to engineering problems, and successfully execute the implementation of proposed and aligned improvement activities/initiatives in the production test environment. The candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills which will enable him/her to engage effectively with individuals, teams, and large groups, both in writing and verbally in a global environment and at all levels of the organization.
The successful candidate should have the innate ability and desire to work autonomously and be selfdriven while also being flexible to complete projects through team-work and collaboration. The successful candidate should also possess the knowledge required to access relevant data, interpret the data, and utilize appropriate and accurate data interpretation to influence and gain commitment for their ideas. A track record of being data oriented is a key quality for this role.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, (or related engineering field)
Minimum 5 years related experience in Product and Test Engineering; higher level of experience is a plus
Knowledge of Probe/Test Equipment and operations is a must
Solid understanding of digital and analog circuits, their operation and analysis
Experience in programming using a modern high level programming language such as C++, Pascal, Visual Basic, IGXL or other similar language is required
Experience with PCB schematic capture tools such as Cadence Allegro is a plus
Experience working in a globally oriented role is preferred. Results driven.
Must have good command of the English language demonstrated through commendable oral and written communication skills.
Comfortable working with all levels of an organization
Demonstrates data driven behavior, seeking out relevant data, correctly interpreting data, and utilizing data to gain alignment for actions and initiatives
Has the ability to work with equal effectiveness in autonomous and collaborative environments
Must possess keen attention to details, capable of multitasking on complex tasks and responsibilities.
Preferred qualifications:
Extensive hands on experience working with different lab equipment for taking data and / or performing device debug or failure analysis. For example use of the curve tracers; return loss analyzers, oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
Experience of bench testing of ADCs, mixed -signal circuits and digital circuits
Experience with bench validation and characterization PCBs
Experience with integrated circuit and device failure analysis
Programming skills for automation of bench characterization equipment (Labview/Teststand), along with C and or C++
Extensive knowledge of statistics and tools to analyze large amounts of characterization data and determine and set production test limits and predict yield data
Have working knowledge of what is required to take a product from development stage to production
Ability to work in a team setup comprising of several cross-functional groups
Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
Strong problem solving, verbal and written communications skills
Ability to multiplex between projects and be able to maintain project schedules
The measure of success for the incumbent will be as follows:
Able to execute project implementation with minimal guidance, on-time, efficiently, and reliably
