ENGINEERING TEAM LEADER - INDUSTRIAL INSTRUMENTATION & CONTROLS

Position Overview:
 
The Engineering Team Leader will oversee and guide a team of engineers and technicians specializing in industrial instrumentation and controls. This includes PLC programming, SCADA system development, variable speed drives (VSDs), and field instrumentation. The role is both technical and managerial, requiring hands-on expertise in automation solutions while providing leadership, mentorship, and project oversight to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet client requirements and organizational standards.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of engineers and technicians in the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation and control systems.
Allocate resources, assign tasks, and monitor project progress to ensure timely and successful execution.
Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and safety awareness.
Technical Responsibilities
Provide advanced engineering support in PLC programming, SCADA development, and integration with instrumentation and VSD systems.
Review and validate control system architectures, design documents, and engineering drawings.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and safety regulations.
Troubleshoot, optimize, and upgrade existing automation systems. Project Execution
Oversee the complete project lifecycle-from design, FAT/SAT, and commissioning to handover.
Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to align project requirements and technical solutions.
Manage project risks, technical issues, and quality control. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for improving engineering processes, tools, and best practices.
Support R&D initiatives for new automation solutions and advanced technologies.
Stay updated with industry advancements in PLC, SCADA, drives, and instrumentation technologies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering (or related field).
Professional License (preferred but not mandatory depending on region).
Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation projects, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong technical expertise in:
PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, or equivalent)
SCADA systems (WinCC, Wonderware, iFIX, or equivalent)
Variable Speed Drives (Danfoss, ABB, Siemens, or equivalent)
Industrial instrumentation (sensors, transmitters, analyzers, actuators, etc.)
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
