Project Engineering
FUNCTIONAL ROLE
To manage project team(s) of multi disciplined engineers and be accountable for the deliverables of an integrated program in line with the customer requirements. Responsible for the Engineering planning, resource demand, measuring and delivery of projects to budget and schedule.
FUNCTIONAL ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY
Generic Responsibilities:
Deliverables
Accountable for all Engineering deliverables from first definition to transfer of title for all rebuilds and handover to aftermarket.
Manage the interaction with the functional teams.
Ensuring the compliance to all requirements
Optimization of cost in design through the use of EV
Manage Technical interface, communication and escalation to the customer (version engineer) in support of the EPL including CDCM/PDR/CDR/FAI
Technical risk evaluation, management, mitigation and closure of escalations.
DDP delivery.
Manage closure of all Engineering work (including Production Permits, NCRs, JCRs, ECNs & EDES) etc.
Ensure that all relevant stakeholders are involved and consulted in the project.
Work to resolve issues preventing progression of design, certification, build, delivery and installation are resolved at the IPT level within the IPT in a timely manner.
Ensure quality of work and implementation of lessons learnt.
Resource
Management for the assigned Engineering resource within the IPT.
Provide resource demand to programs and the functional leads.
Provide performance feed back to the designers and the functional leads.
Perform and support IPT annual performance reviews.
Management of Earned Value CPI, for Engineering hours & resource.
Planning
Management of Earned Value SPI, for Engineering task completion.
Create & Control the engineering portion of the project charter scope from project award to end of program.
Planning of work in line with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) within the integrated schedule.
Planning of the Engineering qualification & testing required.
Reporting / Process Deployment & Development
CPI/SPI Earned Value (EV).
Program profitability responsibility.
Reporting weekly (for their scope of responsibility) to the Engineering & project Leadership teams.
Development of customer relationships.
To apply process and procedures in line with signatory delegation of AP1020.
Monitor IPT Engineering performance, delivery and quality and report where appropriate.
Produce and maintain IPT Engineering KPIs and input into program KPIs.
Improvement & support of processes and continuous improvement activities which support Engineering deliverables.
Specific Responsibilities:
In addition to the Generic Responsibilities described above the Engineering Senior Leadership team may assign specific responsibilities that will support the wider business.
