Description
• Monitor a wide variety of our core End User Computing platforms that include, but not limited to Active Directory, File & Print, SCCM, McAfee ePO, MBAM, Desktop-as-a-Service (AWS WorkSpaces), Mobile Device Management (Intune)
• Troubleshoot issues efficiently while effectively communicating escalations and outcomes
• Provide timely response to all incidents, outages and performance alerts
• Categorise issues for escalation to appropriate teams
• Resolving any single user issues (Account lock outs, permissions, connection issues, etc)
• Service Request and provisioning activities (AD Group creation, file restores, WorkSpaces creation, etc)
• Facilitate and execute regular planned maintenance and document all actions taken in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Notify internal customers and third-party service providers of issues, outages and remediation status
• Work with Enterprise & Desktop Engineering teams, as well as vendors, to provide problem analysis, identification, and resolution of complex issues
• Create documentation as it relates to service configuration, dependency mapping, processes and/or service records
• Develop and maintain production server capacity plan so that capacity can be forecasted and equipment changes planned with minimal impact to users
• Ensuring all changes are documented through Change Management Process
• Contributing to the improvement of processes and approaches within the department
• Adept and creative skills for solving complex enterprise and security challenges across multiple functions
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Significant experience in a technical support role supporting a large-scale multisite enterprise environment
• Strong analytical skills and able to collate and interpret data from various sources
• Good communicator with a natural aptitude for dealing with people
• Good diagnostic skills across a Microsoft-based Enterprise stack with the ability to assess and priorities faults and respond or escalate accordingly
• In-depth understanding of Windows network protocols including DNS, DHCP, WINS, LDAP and Kerberos
• Good knowledge of Mobile Device Management tools and troubleshooting issues
• Practical Experience with Windows Server 2012 R2/2016
• Basic Sys Admin skills and PowerShell scripting
• Extensive and demonstrable experience of Incident and Problem Management, with an understanding of other ITIL processes, applied across multi-platform technologies
Technical Skills Knowledge/Skills/Experience
Essential
Working knowledge of deploying and supporting Windows Servers within a large-scale enterprise environment
Experience with Disaster Recovery techniques including backup and restoration technologies, replication strategies, fail-over and recovery
Knowledge of tracking assets and deploying software/updates using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
Knowledge of monitoring tools such as System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
Knowledge of VDI platforms and supporting remote desktop users
Desirable
1. Experience with virtualisation, Hyper-V/VMWare
2. Knowledge of Clustering technologies
3. Good knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) core services and connectivity options
4. Knowledge of supporting Office 365
5. Experience using Intune to manage mobile devices and applications
