Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
The Cebu Employee Events & Communications Manager is primarily responsible for defining the Employee Engagement & Events needs of Cebu, propose the programs to leadership, and take the lead in the end to end execution of various activities & events in Cebu including all major company events through collaboration with the Employee Events Lead in Manila, Cebu leadership, and other Employee Resource Groups (ERG). Further, the role will assist in developing, planning, & implementing the company's internal communication strategy in partnership with the Communications Team.
Employee Events responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
Will lead events of varying scales for the site including major events such as, but not limited to Year-End Events, Site-wide themed gatherings, townhalls by Sr. Leaders, etc. This involves end-to-end preparations such as planning, coordination with colleagues, vendors, & other stakeholders, & execution of employee engagements activities & events, and post-event assessment for the Cebu Site comprised of 1,500 FTEs. This role will partner with MBPS Employee Engagement Council/s and must collaborate & partner with employees & leaders across all towers that have presence in Cebu to execute on functional events & activities
Will provide guidance and leadership to Cebu colleagues on various MBPS policies & guidelines such as, but not limited to company branding requirements, procurement guidelines, HR-protocols, and the like for employee activities & events. This may also include support for MNL &/or MBPS-wide events
Will assist Cebu colleagues with communications guidelines in partnership with MBPS Communication team. Must be able to operate independently with the aforementioned tasks with minimal supervision to execute on day-to-day and strategic events.
Must conduct needs analysis and have a pulse on the sentiments and needs of the employees from an engagement and employee satisfaction standpoint. These will drive the programs and events that he/she will propose to the leadership. These events & programs must be guided by HR, MBPS, & Global Manulife guidelines & policies to ensure alignment with our employee engagement philosophy.
Partner with all other employee groups such as, but not limited to Company Health & Interest Program (CHIP), Belongingness Council, & Employee Resource Groups (ERG).
Plan, propose and monitor annual Cebu Employee Events budget.
Vendor management - meets and coordinates with all third-party service providers which includes but not limited to arranging of catering, audio-visual needs, giveaways, printing of materials etc.
Organize & lead a team of employee/leader volunteers in Cebu for event execution.
Ensure flow of information amongst the different departments are seamless and accurate.
Develop professional relationships that result in consistent, reliable, and professional communications and event execution. This includes interactions and communications with Sr. Leaders within the company
Solve problems and work independently in a changing and multi-tasking environment with numerous deadlines
Take direction and input and to develop effective and engaging branded events that will achieve the organization's goals.
Influence and coordinate the efforts of other team members in support of event
Represent MBPS in external & community activities and conference
Communications Manager responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
Develop, plan, implement and monitor the company's internal communication strategy.
Develop a content communications plan and calendar for Manulife Business Processing Services
Develop and coordinate all voice of the company, executive and stakeholder communications activities in accordance to Global Manulife guidelines & policies in information dissemination
Write/create/produce regular content that informs, engages and motivates all employees and encourages feedback.
Ensure all communications channels enable employee feedback. Employ mechanisms and approaches that encourage everybody to feel confident to share their feedback honestly and constructively.
Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated
Ensure that all communications (multimedia content and channels) will have a consistent tone and language and is aligned to the Manulife's Branding principles and values.
Lead employee branding activities and collaborate with our HR, Talent Acquisition and creatives services team
Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organization.
Develop any relevant company policies and programs
Track, measure, analyze and deliver reports on current communication efforts
Write press releases for local, national and international media, as required
Qualifications
5+ years experience in events coordination, planning and management, managing internal/ external communications, social media, public relations and marketing, preferred. BPO experience is a plus
Must have track record to execute with minimal supervision on day-to-day including up to major key events
Relevant qualifications and accreditation an advantage
Proven excellent presentation and communication skills with executive presence. Successful candidate should be a proven creative, effective and professional storyteller.
Candidate must have the ability to source and craft stories from employees across several layers in the organization.
Excellent organizational skills (planning, coordination, priority setting, task management and follow through)
Flexible on working hours. Highly developed project and time management skills
Experience of working in fast-growing, multinational environments and adept in managing organisational change.
Thrive in and drive collaboration in a matrix organization.
Knowledge and understanding of communications practices, tools and techniques in social media.
Knowledgeable of various internal communications technology to boost reach, engagement and effectivity.
Proficient in MS Outlook and MS Office Suite includes Power Point, Excel, Word
