Texas Instruments is seeking an Emergency Response Team / ERT Coordinator who performs diverse technical duties associated with Emergency Response activities, utilizing all applicable TI, local, state and federal standards, regulations standards, policies, programs, procedures and standard operational guidelines. Maintain a safe, secure and interruption free environment utilizing prevention activities to mitigate potential response event escalation and impact, including providing initial 5-minute Emergency Response & IC-Incident Command coordination for all SCC-dispatched & paged emergency situations within the AT site. Duties include prevention activities such as odor mitigation, response to emergencies (hazmat, fire, medical, rescue). Duties include prevention activities such as odor mitigation and weekly walkthrough's, training of team members, and coordination of decontamination services, Work with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Once hired, the successful candidate is expected to undergo Required certifications:
Become certified at the Hazmat Technical level
Become certified at the Incident Command Level 2
Become certified Confined Space Rescuer
Become Fire Brigade Instructor
Manage Hazmat Response
Manage Rescue Response
Manage Fire Brigade
On-scene IC of continued response operations across the site
Issuance of Confined Space Permits
Issue Cutting / Welding Permits
Monthly Preventative Maintenance tasks outlined in FMS
Support evacuations and Annual drills
Perform prevention inspections looking for anything that may cause injuries or interruptions.
Attend Work permit meetings to gather information in regards to work that may create odors, leaks, or other hazards that may be mitigated via containment, ventilation, etc.
Attend ESH meetings to discuss issues that arise, prevention items and employee education activities.
Interface with Facilities System Owners through meetings and 1 on 1 to work issues related to the building, life safety systems, material supply, etc.
Create scope of work, process Knowledge forms and work permits.
Have a basic knowledge of Chemistry. (Properties, hazard classes, compatibilities, reactions, protective measures and environmental impact.)
Provide monthly training classes to team members on all shifts and assist in instructing initial hazmat technician, rescue and fire response classes.
Perform monthly PM's on all response equipment and maintain stock of all expendable supplies.
Maintain team staffing to a minimum staffing requirement through presentations, sending out openings via e-mail and close interaction with AT management teams.
Gain instructor certification and training.
Assist in creating and updating training packages for Hazmat, Rescue and Fire Brigade team members and the general population in regards to ESH training.
Coordinate fire watch activities during life safety systems work, power failures, AT shutdowns.
Support evacuation drills.
Perform area and local ventilation activities for odors and equipment maintenance utilizing positive pressure fans, makeup air units, duct work.
Working with ESH and building management, perform prevention tours of chemical docks, facilities area and outside the building. Document items and corrective actions. Execute and follow up on items.
Be proficient in computer usage utilizing Microsoft Office, SAP, Event Manager, and other electronic reference resources.
Insure ERT shift coverage for all holidays and vacation requests.
Maintain stock of expendable supplies in spill carts, cabinets, Decon storage rooms
Maintain your hazmat physical and fit test annually. Schedule and attend within the month due.
Maintain your required training courses annually.
Assist in writing standard operational guidelines, forms, checklists and other documentation.
Back up issuance and writing of confined space and cutting/welding permits as needed.
Bachelor/Associate degree in Environmental or Occupational Safety and Health or Emergency Management, Industrial Safety or other related field
Or 2 years of hands-on experience as an Environmental Safety and Health Specialist, or Emergency Responder
Certified Safety Officer 2 of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Certified Safety Officer 3 is an advantage

Evaluate information and data against regulations and TI standards
Communicate clearly, concisely and effectively, both in writing and verbally, with sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
