Job Purpose/Mission/Summary
As an Email Security Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing email traffic to identify and prevent potential security threats. You will work closely with the IT team to ensure that all security measures are up-to-date and effective. You will act as the liaison between the security team and other departments, ensuring that security controls and emails are met. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing inbound and outbound security rules for email (filtering, whitelists, spam, etc.), providing input on messaging initiatives, maintaining email security infrastructure, and deploying security controls to manage and mitigate risks. You will also be responsible for securing email systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access. You will report and develop metrics (KPI) capabilities, keep up to date with current security threats and trends, create and maintain documentation for security procedures and protocols, and provide training and education for employees on email security best practices.xa0xa0

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Monitor and analyze email traffic for potential security threats, including phishing and spam.
Investigate and respond to security incidents in a timely and effective manner.
Collaborate with IT and Security Architecture teams to implement and maintain email security protocols.
Manage inbound and outbound security rules for email (filtering, whitelists, spam, etc.).
Provide inputs on messaging initiatives, maintain email security infrastructure, and deploy security controls to manage and mitigate risks.
Secure email systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
Develop and report metrics (KPIs) for email security performance.
Stay current with emerging security threats and trends and adapt security measures accordingly.
Create and maintain documentation for security procedures and protocols.
Provide training and education for employees on email security best practices.
Preferred Certifications:
CompTIA (A+, Security+, Network+, CySA+)
Microsoft Certifications (MS-900, AZ-900, AZ-500)
CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional
CCSP: Certified Cloud Security Professional
Other relevant security certification is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
3+ years of experience in email security, with a focus on threat analysis and incident response.
Experience with email security platforms such as Proofpoint (TAP, EFD, TRAP), Mimecast and Microsoft O365.
Strong understanding of email protocols and infrastructure like DKIM, SPF, and DMARC.
Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and email filtering solutions.
Familiarity with email encryption technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong understanding of information security best practices and industry standards.
