ELECTRICIAN
 
QUALIFICATION
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred
With electrical experience in residential, commercial and industrial
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools relevant to electrical work
Ability to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components
National Certificate II (NC II) in Electrical Installation and Maintenance
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Install and assemble electrical wiring, components, and equipment according to blueprints and specifications. 
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal functioning. 
Diagnose and repair electrical equipment, wiring, and systems by locating malfunctions using specialized tools and techniques. 
Test electrical systems, continuity, and new installations to ensure they are safe and meet quality standards. 
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and ensure compliance with safety standards and codes. 
Complete work orders, log all services, and report on progress, materials used, and completed repairs. 
Work with other technicians, engineers, and contractors on projects, and communicate with management and stakeholders. 
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with electrical systems and components.
Skills Required
Skill in using hand tools and power tools for installation and repair. 
Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities to identify and resolve electrical issues. 
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure safety and accuracy in all tasks. 
Knowledge of safety protocols and electrical codes to ensure safe working practices. 
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and management.
