Needs to be able to perform the following tasks:
How to use a multi-meter.
How to wire a 3 way switch.
How to change a fluorescent light ballast.
How to wire a photo cell to multiple lights.
Install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
A knowledge of the elctrical field including but not limited to buildings, instrumentation, wiring, panels and connections, power stations, generators and other engine driven equipment; qualifications of basic electrical certifications, diplomas will carry aditional weightage.
The skill set for an Electrician involves in-yard working as well as visiting sites for installation, maintenance/servicing, trouble-shooting/repairs, calibration, setting and connection for electricals of buildings and engine driven industrial equipment but with basic knowledge of mechinical components as well.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
Responsible for connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
