Position Overview:
 
We are seeking a motivated and fast-learning Electrical Engineer to support the design of solar energy systems. While prior experience in solar design is not required, the ideal candidate must have a solid foundation in electrical engineering principles and be proficient in electrical cable sizing and calculations. You should be eager to learn, adaptable, and ready to take on the challenges of solar system design.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Create designs and configurations of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including system sizing, electrical schematics, and interconnection diagrams.
Conduct site assessments and factor in location-specific elements (e.g., sunlight exposure, roof structure) to determine the optimal solar system configuration.
Calculate and specify appropriate electrical cable sizes, ensuring compliance with safety standards and system requirements.
Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system performance analysis to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
Prepare technical documentation, including project proposals, electrical drawings, and system specifications.
Assist with project management by monitoring project progress and troubleshooting issues during system installation.
Keep up to date with the latest solar technologies, electrical standards, and industry trends.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles
Ability to perform accurate cable sizing calculations for both AC and DC circuits, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software is a plus, but not required.
Proficiency in PVsyst software is a plus, but not required.
No prior experience in solar design is required, but a strong interest in renewable energy and solar power is essential.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
Detail-oriented and able to ensure accuracy in calculations and designs.
