Job Description
Responsible for the effective, optimal, and safe operation and maintenance of the DCS system and equipment as well as related I & C components.
1. Manages the proper operation of the DCS according to defined procedures and standards.
2. Ensures correct use of the DCS systems for efficient operations.
3. Executes the functional tests of all plant equipment; carries out the analysis and troubleshooting relative to DCS, PLC, and local panels; verifies the analog and digital interlocks and protective devices; and fine-tuning for all digital and analog control loops.
4. Implements necessary corrective measures on DCS operations and processes including configuration of DCS software and hardware.
5. Ensures the DCS safety guards and interlocks in the system are functional and cannot be bypassed.
6. Monitors and analyses data generated from operating the DCS and recommends solutions for better procedures and system improvements.
7. Monitors the performance of the PLC and SCADA systems as linked to the DCS and recommends necessary improvements.
8. Schedules maintenance activities and always ensures the availability of spare parts for replacement in coordination with planning and immediate superior.
9. Maintains oversight over the configuration, updates, improvements, and repairs on the DCS system installed by the supplier.
10. Performs other related tasks assigned by the plant management.
Experience Required:
1. At least 4 years of exposure in DCS and I&C maintenance/commissioning.
2. Have intensive exposure to DCS administration. Knowledgeable in process control loop
design, fine-tuning, logic configuration, and troubleshooting.
3. Demonstrated ability to perform varied programs and tasks related to the engineering
function of the plant.
4. Good skills in interpreting control system drawings (Logic, DCS/PLC configuration/wiring, and interconnection drawings)
