POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Strategic Programs and Transformation Management is a leader within the ecommerce team responsible for owning the executive program-wide communications related to the status of initiatives within the scope of the Strategic Programs and Delivery organization. They will collaborate with other members of the Strategic Programs and Delivery team (e.g., Scrum Masters and Director) to understand the status of each in-flight initiative, its adherence to the agreed-upon budget, and its adherence to the agreed-upon timeline. The Director will also be responsible for the "incubation" of programs that get added to the scope of the Strategic Programs and Transformation Management team, shaping the skeleton team for the program and eventually handing over the program to the Scrum Masters and/or Director for execution.
The Director will serve as the main point of contact for questions related to timelines and interdependencies for all initiatives. They will need to work closely with representatives within Finance to ensure initiatives are accountable for their spend, CMOs and other relevant leaders to design new initiatives and assign accountable owners, and coach their team on best practices related to initiative incubation and effective leadership reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage pipeline of potential future projects to be managed by the Strategic Programs and Delivery organization
Own process to catalogue and prioritize future strategic initiatives (e.g., sourcing ideas, sizing estimated impact, assessing feasibility and risk, executive leadership verification, etc.)
Accountable for rigorous tracking of initiative and program-level view of initiatives in scope for the Strategic Programs and Transformation management team
Own executive communications on status and financial impact of the eCommerce transformation (including EC/board of director responsibilities)
Cross-functionally coordinate with CMOs and other relevant leaders (e.g., Sales) to design new groups owning value delivery
Partner with Scrum Masters to ensure a seamless handoff as program transitions from incubation to full-scale launch
Identify and mitigate risks to program delivery and outcomes
Facilitate removal of roadblocks
Collect and pressure test ideas for strategic programs
Collaborate with Strategic Programs and Delivery Leader and executive leadership on prioritization and timing of strategic programs to incubate
Identify key personnel (internal and external) to own value delivery for the initiative incubation
Stand-up team and processes to execute initiative beyond the incubation phase
Document progress of initiatives to Reporting and Transformation Management team
Requests funding for initiative incubation
Manage senior stakeholder relationships incl. progress updates, decision making & escalations
Receive draft executive presentations from Senior Manager and make adjustments as needed
Coach and develop Scrum Masters and initiative owners to ensure a successful handoff
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Request additional support where needed, specifying expertise needed as new initiatives reach "incubation" phase
Own budgetary KPIs, linking financial delivery forecasts back to initiative/roadmap and milestone progress
Oversee the initial sizing of the estimated financial impact of each initiative pre-incubation
Budgetary KPIs and adherence to timeline
Value delivery from organization-wide programs, organizational engagement
Overall pre-provision earnings target, entire Strategic Programs and Delivery budget
QUALIFICATIONS
Business and technical (engineering) acumen: Senior leader with demonstrated credibility in workstream area and credibility with eCommerce leadership & initiative owners
Experience with executive leadership presentations on technical topics (e.g., product development)
Ability to influence with and without direct authority and work collaboratively with others both inside and outside the eCommerce Organization
Strategic perspective: Understanding of eCommerce-wide strategy, how eCommerce ambitions link to the transformation program, specific workstreams/initiatives; Ability to forecast predictive performance of workstreams/initiatives and suggest interventions
Financial and business acumen: Deep understanding of RCI and CEL eCommerce makes and spends money, the actual drivers of performance, and how strategic metrics translate into finical metrics and then into operational drivers
Transformative experience: Has delivered multiple successful large scale change efforts in the eCommerce organization with a real track record of quantifiable impacts in a multi stakeholder environment
Bachelor's degree in business, MIS, or computer science preferred. MBA preferred.
