SUMMARY OF ROLE
SunPower is seeking a Design Team Lead for the Residential Business Unit. The Design Team Lead reports to the Design Section Manager. The Design Team Lead is responsible for managing the team of Design Engineers and is expected to interact directly and regularly with Design Engineering stakeholders as part of daily operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Possesses in-depth knowledge of the business processes being supported
Monitors daily operations and is primarily responsible for team metrics
Drives compliance of company policy, process and design guidelines
Keeps process documents and work instructions up to date
Handles escalations from the team
Drives team performance thru regular engagement, counseling and mentoring, rewards and recognition and delegation of tasks for competency and critical skills development
Plans and manages team resources through scheduling and workload balancing to achieve team objective, SLAs, Stakeholders' requirements, etc.
Contributes to the development of new ideas and methods to improve key processes
Directly influences and guides the team, provides direction and workload prioritization
Works with cross-functional groups for process alignment and escalations
Works with Management team to determine business change initiatives
Resolves complex requirements conflicts through effective stakeholder engagement
Communicates to team members any new requirements, changes, updates on all support related information as well as company information
Responsible for ensuring that all "tools of the trade" for each team member is working and all issues are communicated to helpdesk for resolution
Facilitates process knowledge transfer to the Design Team
Effectively conducts regular huddles, team meetings, coaching and feedback session with direct reports
RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or Architecture; Minimum: Technological Course Graduate
At least 5 years of related work experience
Advanced knowledge on PV System Design Tools (Autocad, Aurora, Pictometry, PVSIM)
Proficiency in Design Softwares (Autocad)
Proficiency in MS Office suite
Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work nightshift, weekends and US/PH holidays
