SUMMARY OF ROLE
SunPower is seeking a Design Engineer for the Residential Business Unit. The Design Engineer reports to the Design Team Lead. The Design Engineer is responsible for the development and timely completion of design package deliverables and is expected to interact directly with Design Engineering stakeholders for any design-related activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs detailed PV system design with minimal supervision.
- Carries out complex designs according to guidelines.
- Possesses deep understanding of own process area and basic understanding of other business units.
- Consistently meets design output targets with no or minimal errors.
- In charge of basic to detailed design deliverables for a full design package such as array layout, shading analysis, PV-inverter sizing, single line diagram, bill of materials, output estimation.
- May be asked to be trained and execute other design/drafting activities.
- Regularly interacts with Design Engineer colleagues and Team Lead for design process alignment.
- Directly clarifies gray areas with internal or external stakeholders pertaining to a specific design request at hand.
RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements
- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or Architecture; Minimum: Technological Course Graduate.
- 0-2 years of related work experience.
- Basic knowledge on PV System Design Tools (Autocad, Aurora, Pictometry, PVSIM).
- Proficiency in Design Softwares (Autocad)
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Demonstrates very good oral and written communication skills
OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION
- Candidate must be willing to work in Laguna Technopark, Binan Laguna
- Candidate must be legally entitled to work and reside in the Philippines
- Candidate must be willing to render overtime as business requires (weekends, US/PH holidays)
- Candidate must be flexible to work on a night shift schedule supporting North America region
