Job Description Role and Responsibilities The Derivatives Operation Analyst is responsible for various reconciliation and settlement process supporting the Global Derivative Services model: Provide daily operations support through reconciliation and settlements process of derivative instruments (but not limited to): Swap coupons and initial/final exchange, etc Initial/Variation Margin for Futures, Cleared Swaps and Collateral Management processes Cash/Securities Settlements Perform daily confirmation of incoming/outgoing settlement of derivative coupons, IM/VM due on the executed derivative products and their respective portfolios Perform varying levels of reconciliation and investigation from trade level, position, bank, suspense, etc, in accordance to internal standards where issues are escalated/resolved on a timely manner Generate required reports daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly as deemed by the business supported Work within existing procedures and processes ensuring clear and concise documentation is created and maintained as such procedures and processes evolve over time Exercise initiative to assist department management in review and analysis of established procedures and processes, making recommendations to ensure that efficient and flexible service is provided to clients at all times Provide assistance to other team members and management team when required Participate in inter-department cross training to ensure continuity of service Additional duties as assigned Willing to work on mid or night shift Additional Responsibilities include: Ensures the team is operating under the strongest control environment and that tasks are completed within procedures and controls, including the usage of proper escalation protocols Work closely with management to implement business strategy Strong contributions in projects, new initiatives, and technology development Leadership: Interact with different levels of the organization to support initiatives of our division. Recommend and influence solutions to help improve and simplify business processes when needed. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education: College / University graduate (preferably Math, Business, Finance or related fields) with minimum 2 to 3 years work experience in Banking, Finance and/or Investments field Knowledge and exposure to derivative products such as Swaps, FX, Options, Futures and Forwards and/or Collateral Management functions relevant to coupons, commission schedule, broker fees, and initial/variation margin Knowledge and understanding of trade life cycle and varying levels of reconciliation Familiarity with broker statements / portal and general knowledge of custody operations Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, intermediate to advanced knowledge in MS Office macros is a plus Knowledge and understanding of ISDA, CSA, Give-Up Agreements Knowledge and familiarity on bank/suspense reconciliation, understanding of SWIFT and international wire instructions Client focused with the ability to understand the requirements of clients Good problem-solving skills with high level of accuracy, and attention to details Ability to react quickly and meet tight deadlines maintaining accuracy and thoroughness Excellent English skills, both oral and written, with strong comprehension skills to effectively communicate with internal and external parties Demonstrate initiative and a team player Ability to adapt to changes, and set priorities This Job Description is intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed.
