Job Description The Opportunity The Derivatives Operation Analyst will be responsible for all back-office functions that support derivative trading enterprise-wide, including both the General Account and 3rd party funds managed by Manulife and John Hancock Asset Management. Daily functions include the daily monitoring of collateral positions and margin requirements across bilateral and exchange traded clearing accounts, derivative trade processing, reconciliation resolution, OTC and margin settlements, and fielding audit inquiries. You obsess about customers, listen, engage and act for their benefit You think big, with curiosity to discover ways to useyouragile mindset and enable business outcomes You thrive in teams,and enjoygettingthingsdone together You take ownership and build solutions, focusing on what matters You do what is right, work with integrity and speakup You share your humanity,helping usbuild a diverse and inclusive work environment for everyone We are looking for someone with: College / University graduate (preferably Math, Business, Finance or related fields) with minimum 2 to 3 years work experience in Banking, Finance and/or Investments field Basic knowledge of financial markets and the language and terminology used in Investment Management Knowledge and exposure to derivative products such as Swaps, FX, Options, Futures and Forwards and/or Collateral Management functions relevant to coupons, commission schedule, broker fees, and initial/variation margin Knowledge and understanding of trade life cycle and varying levels of reconciliation Familiarity with broker statements / portal and general knowledge of custody operations Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, intermediate to advanced knowledge in MS Office macros is a plus Knowledge and understanding of ISDA, CSA, Give-Up Agreements Knowledge and familiarity on bank/suspense reconciliation, understanding of SWIFT and international wire instructions Client focused with the ability to understand the requirements of clients Good problem-solving skills with high level of accuracy, and attention to details Ability to react quickly and meet tight deadlines maintaining accuracy and thoroughness Excellent English skills, both oral and written, with strong comprehension skills to effectively communicate with internal and external parties Demonstrate initiative and a team player Solid organizational skills and a high degree of professionalism combined with the ability to readily adapt to rapidly changing environments and deal with competing priorities Must be willing to work on a night shift schedule On the job you will: Issue margin calls, substitutions and general collateral oversight/margin management for Futures, OTC, and Cleared products Develop and manage working relationships with clearing broker back office counterparts.
