Our Role
Primarily responsible for ensuring the proper, safe and effective operations. The KILN Production Operator is responsible for operating equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Equipment may include various equipment monitoring, material handling and computerized operation of KILN. The KILN Operator must ensure cleanliness of the area and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures.
Ensure proper shift-to-shift handover / takeover (with checklists and signoffs).
Provide assembly assistance to the Production line.
Follow and monitor work practices to ensure production is according to quality procedures and to agreed specifications.
Setup and operate machinery and equipment in a safe manner.
Monitor and record the performance and operating conditions of the Plant in the shift report.
Maintain production line operations by seeking assistance of Supervisor to solve production process problems.
Perform regular and routine inspections of the machinery to detect possible malfunctions and to report to the relevant personnel to rectify faults / breakdowns.
Assist in clearing blockages, breakdown repairs and maintenance work.
Fixing minor issues that may arise with the production line and troubleshooting when production issues occur.
Maintain cleanliness of equipment and machinery in assigned area.
Perform housekeeping duties. E.g. ensure dust and spillage are all cleared before end of shift.
Perform other duties as assigned by immediate superior.
The successful candidate will have a qualification of an Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical Engineer or equivalent. Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment or a quarry is highly desirable. A strong knowledge of quality, engineering standards and government regulations.
