About the role
We are currently seeking a Data Scientist to join the Business Intelligence (BI) team embedded within the Quality function.We are interested in speaking to people at all Levels (Analyst, Senior and Lead) who have relevant industry experience or skillset.
This role is essential to protect Dyson and its customers from any changes that could impact product reliability or user satisfaction. The role will focus on identifying leading indicators of product quality using data from our manufacturing sites to predict in market performance using established data science techniques. You will need to be comfortable managing and manipulating cloud-based data sources and applying scientific and analytics tools to these datasets. It would be beneficial but not necessary if you have experience of Tableau/Looker/Power BI or a similar visualisation tool that can bring the data to life and tell the story to non-technical colleagues of any level.
Creative thinking & persistence is a prerequisite of this role and necessary attributes for explaining the key drivers of any trends and features identified.
As well as BI colleagues you will collaborate closely with product and category engineers, IT and data infrastructure teams as-well-as external and internal manufacturing and operational teams across the globe.
About you
- Practical application of data science tools, techniques and methodologies.
- Relevant experience in Cloud Data Analysis e.g., BigQuery (or Redshift or Snowflake).
- Proficient in leveraging Python for comprehensive data analysis (optional: machine learning).
- Demonstrated expertise in applying advanced statistical techniques such as hypothesis testing.
- Basic knowledge of data engineering tools such as DBT and ETL techniques.
- Adept at articulating findings effectively, both visually and verbally, and constructing compelling narratives to management.
- Desirable to have experience in the logistics, supply chain or manufacturing domain, such as MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).
- Desirable to have experience with Tableau, Looker, Qlik or Power BI for data visualization.
- Relevant experience in project and stakeholder management.
