You like working in a silo and do not like talking to people - this role demands that you collaborate closely with data owners, data custodians, data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders in order to successfully access, integrate and prepare the data
You do not care to understand the business - the ability to understand the business context is key to this role as you will not only need to navigate the data but also know how to prepare the data in such a way that can be used by the business for analysis
You expect readily available data - data practitioners know the reality of how much work needs to be put in to get data to a readily available state and you need to be ready to take on that challenge
You do not have an appreciation for data security and privacy - this is key as this is one of the biggest considerations in building data pipelines
We'd love to have you if...
You have proven experience building data pipelines and automating data transformation tasks
You are well-versed in data architectures including cloud architectures, data lakes, data marts, data stores; even more if you are familiar with multiple vendor platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Big Query, etc)
You are well versed in SQL and have experience working with data structures in Python or R (i.e. Data Frames)
You have a track record for being able to ingest, transform and extracting value from various data sources
You can pick up new technology and platforms with agility
You have the data intuition to identify opportunities for data acquisition and integration (I.e. you ask questions like: what if we connect this data to this data?); and also identify areas for improvement on the data pipeline (i.e. what if we host this data on a lake instead?)
You have excellent communication and coordination skills
You have experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment, and willing to continue to do so
You are willing to spend some time teaching and upskilling your teammates and others in the organization in the areas of data collection, data transformation, data quality, and the like
