Data Engineer 2 will be responsible for expanding and optimizing ServiceSource's data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. Works independently without supervision with extensive latitude for discretion and independent judgement.
Job Purpose
Data Engineer 2 will be responsible for expanding and optimizing ServiceSource's data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. Works independently without supervision with extensive latitude for discretion and independent judgement.
Essential Functions - Duties and Responsibilities
Learn ServiceSource's existing extract, transform, and load (ETL) process and data architecture
Strive to continuously develop new and improved data engineering capabilities
Create new and manage existing ETL framework to ensure a consistent data management process
Designs, architects, implements, and support key datasets to provide access to actionable business insights
Monitor and tune database to enhance its performance
Participate in client meetings to manage future change and enhancement requests playing the role as the technical expert for ServiceSource
Works with internal customers to help define change and enhancement requirements for existing clients
Gather and generate technical requirement for enhancements and bug fixes
Works with team to identify and build efficient and scalable processes
Mentor junior staff for professional and technical development
Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced data engineers
Evaluate new technologies in the marketplace to seek out better solutions to improve data engineering framework
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
4 - 9 years of related experience working with T*SQL and SSIS
4 - 9 years of related experience working with MS SQL Server database
Expert SQL knowledge and experience working with any relational database
4 - 9 years of related experience working with UNIX shell scripts or PowerShell
4 - 9 years of related experience working with Regular Expression
4 - 9 years of related experience working with NoSQL databases such as Apache Cassandra, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Druid, Neo4j, Couchbase, and/or Hadoop
4 - 9 years of related experience working with streaming and/or message queueing product such as
Apache Kafka, Spark Streaming, Apache Storm, AWS Kinesis
4 - 9 years of related experience working with APIs to send and receive data
4 - 9 years of related experience working with large databases that exceeds multi terabytes of data
4 - 9 years of related experience working with SQL performance tuning
Preferred Qualifications
2 - 6 years of related experience working with Salesforce data
2 - 6 years of related experience working with any commercial ETL framework such as Talend, Mulesoft, Informatica, Matillion, and other similar products
2 - 6 years of related experience working with any of the following business intelligence application such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, and other similar products
2 - 6 years of related experience working with unstructured or semi-structured data
2 - 6 years of related experience working as a data modeler
2 - 6 years of related experience working in AWS environment managing files in S3/EMR
Full understanding of data fabric concept and design
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical degree

This job operates in a professional office environment but does allow some flexibility to work remotely on a case by case scenario.
