Job Description
The opportunity
This Data Architect role is responsible for both the ownership enterprise data architecture and definition of application level data architecture & data models. To be successful in the role, the candidate will possess not only deep expertise in their particular field, but also superior relationship management, coaching and mentoring skills.
Responsibilities
Responsible for data architecture and data model design, issues and solutions considerations apply Manulife best practices to create scalable and secure solutions that have superior technical performance
Designs data models and data flows to support flow of data through the organization
Designs and supports conceptual, logical, and physical data models
Assists with design of application data flows
Works with UI/UX and business analysts across small to medium sized teams with common purpose to provide input for conceptual and logical data models (LDM)

What we are looking for
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
At least five years of experience in data modeling and data architecture
At least five years of experience in project delivery & Software Development Life Cycle (SLDC)
At least five years of experience with e-business, digital and partner integration programs
At least five years in big data technologies, data pipelines, ETL, analytics and security architecture
Good understanding of data modeling concepts: Conceptual, Logical, Physical designs Normalization/ Denormalization Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD)
Strong knowledge of understanding of data manage ment, from RDBMS to NoSQL data models
Data modeling for large-scale systems and familiarity with industry data standards (eg. ACORD or equivalent)
Good working and background knowledge of Azure Data Lake and respective technology stack
