This role can be worked remotely anywhere in the UK with some occasional (expensed) travel to London/CGI/Client Sites including Birmingham and Warrington Your future duties and responsibilities: Our requirement is for a Data Architect to support a critical data migration for a key client application. This application is being developed by a client third party (the source application is supported by CGI). The architect will need to work closely with the client, their third party and CGI to initially develop the strategy and design for the data migration, whilst taking into account the still changing to-be infrastructure (also being delivered by CGI). You will also need to support the commercial process to plan and estimate the implementation phase of the project, and work closely with the CGI PM to manage risks and dependencies. You'll also need to work closely with an existing Apps Support team to develop necessary mapping and migration scripts. Overal,l you'll be responsible for the creation of the Data Migration Strategy and Data Migration High Level Design. Detailed Responsibilities: . write and maintain the migration HLD . own the design to support the non-functional requirements, and how this will be validated . Liaise with the CGI architect/technical community to obtain and then maintain support for the proposed solution, managing senior technical stakeholder expectations as the design is developed . In particular, work closely with two other CGI projects which are also delivering part of the overall solution . Work with the CGI and client PMs to manage approvals required for secure data movement in the client environments . Manage the data mapping 'dictionary' . Feedback to the client 3rd party where application changes are required to support the migration (3rd party is working Agile) . Support the business in defining comprehensive test scenarios . support the commercial process to break down, plan and estimate the implementation phase of the project . work with an existing Apps Support team to develop necessary mapping and migration scripts . working with the PM, develop a very well thought through migration plan . work closely with the client PM to manage risks and dependencies Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . Extensive data migration experience . Good experience as a data architect/consultant . Customer focussed with ability to identify and understand and deliver to the (internal and/or external) customer's needs. . Hands on technical experience which will allow support for other members of the team . Comfortable working in a mixed Agile environment . A self-starting individual with a strong work ethic capable of planning and managing own time effectively. Ability to perform under pressure and to work using own initiative as well as part of a team. . Assertive in potentially difficult situations, engaging diplomacy where necessary. . Excellent verbal and written communication, influencing and interpersonal skills. . Able to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy. .
