Data Activation Director
What this position is about - Purpose
The Data Activation Director drives the productive use of data in decision-making throughout the organization. He/she will define the data strategy for deriving actionable and strategic benefits through the usage of deep analytics. you will manage a team that brings together: Data Strategist, Data analysts, and Data Managers in charge of Data accessibility, availability, accountability, and actionability. As responsible for the Digital/IT Data strategy, he/she will ensure to drive of a consistent data strategy in JTI across all functions and markets, providing guidance and key drivers to unleash the power of M&S and GSC data as a starting focus. He/she will then support as well a progressive data expansion and data activation/enrichment across the rest of the organization (R&D, P&C, FI, etc.).
The Data Activation Director will work closely with the business leaders and BTS leadership team to identify data opportunities to accelerate data-driven and digital data initiatives leveraging advanced analytics. He/she will leverage data scientists, data strategists, data analysts, and partners to design a future-proof data strategy and roadmap to increase the current JTI data maturity level. The incumbent will ensure a common methodology and approach for data collection, connection, and activation including storytelling and insight generation across all functions, to ensure data are embedded in the day-by-day operations with a clear and articulated business value.
What will you do - Responsibilities:
Data Strategy: Working closely with the business leaders and BTS leader to drive and prioritize data & advanced analytics needs and opportunities. Own and define a global data strategy. Ensure data accountability and data actionability, including insight generation and storytelling. Drive and help define data needs across markets/functions and ensure data accessibility
Data Accountability & Management: Be accountable for defining which data to collect, and processes to enable data collection, and coordinate with the data governance team in respect of corporate compliance policies. Ensure data actionability across the organization and data availability thru a data management platform. Setting up agile data activation processes to ensure data effectiveness, data efficiency, and fast decision-making
Data Expansion and Data Activation: Identify, expand, and enrich data leveraging a variety of sources and advanced analytics techniques-create sounds Data & analytics roadmaps, data-driven use cases, and KPIs frameworks. Ensure business value is well-defined for each initiative and measured accordingly
Communication and Collaboration: Communication & enforcement of data strategy needs to Business leaders. Ensures, together with the internal communications team, that communications relating to data & analytics are using the best channels and reach the correct audience. Attend, support, and participate in all Data Analytics leadership meetings. Collaborate closely with other business functions/BTS Leads to ensure alignment and collaborative development of the data repositories to accelerate the analytics needs across the business
Training & Market Activations: Providing markets and other business functions with training and guidance in how to best collect critical data needed, access data, generate reporting, and understand and leverage the outcome of analytics for decision-making
Whom are we looking for - Requirements:
University Degree in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering + MBA
12+ years of IT and Business professional experience with at least five years of previous work experience in multinational companies
Solid experience with data strategy, data science, statistical analysis, data mining, and advanced analytics
Proven experience establishing and managing an Analytics function within large complex FMCG organizations
Should have experience in developing data science/analytics/big data use cases and strategy
Proven ability to effectively lead and manage within a fast-paced, high-growth complex organization
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to identify and collaborate with key stakeholders across functions.
Solid knowledge and understanding of the business and organization
Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills
Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
Ability to anticipate and solve problems
Energetic, innovative, and flexible
Proven change management skills and experience
