Essential
Degree in Fine Arts or related fields.
Proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and other related tools.
Expert in Typography and Design
Knowledgeable with Ingram Quality requirement.

Can work with less supervision
Thorough knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and other related tools.

Ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently to meet deadlines

Can work flexible working hours when required on occasion to meet work load and deadline needs.
Key Accountabilities of the role
The cover designer creates the book’s front and back design. Specifications are made according to the author’s preferences.
Tasks
Creates cover design in accordance to author’s preference.
Decides on what to create for book cover if author allows designer to direct the design.
Ensures that the design coincides the book’s theme.
Coordinates with the Production Supervisor if there are projects that needs to be clarified in order to deliver what author expects.
Religiously updates tracker.
Does quality checking to ensure the quality of work before endorsing to the Production Supervisor.
Coordinates with Content Evaluator to deeply understand book’s theme in order to come up an idea for the design.
Manages Shutterstock photos.
Proofreads cover description, author’s bio and other critical text in the cover that can easily catch reader’s attention in order to avoid textual errors.
Does the necessary textual correction.
Checks the images provided by author if it passes the standard size of 300dpi and up.
Enhances images provided by author for cover design.
