As a Chief Accountant, you will be the sparring partner and trusted business advisor to the Board of Directors of Sealand Asia and President of MCC Transport Philippines; working with the rest of the leadership team to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
You will take an active role in performance management and in driving action plans for improving company performance across the functions and in maintaining our license to operation being a good corporate citizen, protecting our external reputation. You will ensure compliance with statutory and local tax regulations in the country. This includes full ownership of the area financial statements also includes handling the relationship to external parties such as auditors and tax outsource partners where relevant.
Lastly, you will maintain an efficient working relationship with the GSC (Global Service Centers) finance organization supporting the company on Finance Operations activities.

Key Responsibilities
Compliance: to local statutory reporting requirements are met and filed in accordance with local accounting policies.
Tax Compliance: for both local entities and liner companies operating in the cluster. Ensures timely and accurate tax filing and settlements, with adequate documentation in accordance with local tax legislation
Following the control framework of the company, ensuring that control
activities are properly executed (incl. fraud awareness) and ensuring
feedback to the Board of Directors on control deficiencies in local control environment
Financial planning and analysis which includes budgeting and
forecasting; controlling revenue leakage from waivers and write offs,
provide customer yield analysis, and the like; drive operational cost
efficiency of the company, including SG & A.
Validate financial impact of business decisions (e.g. accounting impact,
cash flow impact, profitability, financial risk and tax exposure)
Performance management: of agreed upon actions to ensure that each action can be measured on a concrete outcome be it volume
performance, campaigns, sales activity levels etc.
Responsible for providing the required governance for weekly/monthly meeting flow including reports to the Board of Directors. Ensure standard reporting landscape is adhered to and consistently applied on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, as one set of data.
Who we are looking for
Problem solving: Quickly capturing what business requires, providing relevant financial insights based on the best data available for decision making. Decomposing a complex problem into manageable pieces.
Stakeholder management: Engaging with senior leaders, managing expectations and speaking-up & influencing without authority. Has a visible drive for results, inspires others to strive higher and does not bind him/herself by functional and leadership level boundaries.
Communication & presentation: Presenting in front of senior leaders & decision makers and getting your point come across in English
Business acumen: Commercial acumen to understand and challenge numbers based on a business agenda. Understanding of Logistics & Services business, a plus.
We expect you also have:
Language: Business level English
Education: A solid financial educational background as Chartered Accountant or equivalent Master's degree in Business and/or Finance
Experience: Substantial experience as 'Leader of Leaders' and with a proven track record of selecting and coaching finance professionals
