We are currently in search of a highly analytical and qualified Cost Estimator to join our partner's growing business. The Cost Estimator works closely with the Estimating Coordinator and the Sales and Operations teams to develop accurate costings for projects and well-presented quotations. You will understand and respond appropriately to projects that are urgent, and projects that require additional effort or resources. You communicate effectively with all team members to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
Work with the Estimating Coordinator and the Sales team to understand sales and client requirements, context, and scope of work thoroughly.
Work with the Operations team to understand costs and time involved.
Develop accurate and neat costings and store appropriately on SharePoint.
Merge compelling, neat, and accurate quote and estimate presentations.
Arrange additional resources for Sales as required, including drawings, samples etc.
Costing of variations for the Project Manager.
Actively contribute and participate in the Operations team.
Position Requirements
Understanding of structures and construction
Understanding of sales strategies
MS Word and MS Excel advanced skillset
Exceptional written and spoken English
Proficient in the use of technology - Excel, Sketchup, CAD, Adobe, On-screen measurement systems
Nice to Have
Tertiary Education in Project Management or Business
Personality Fit
Attention to detail, accurate and methodical
Driven to succeed yet a team player and very personable
Excellent communication - written and verbal
Efficient - excellent time management
Works efficiently and is task-oriented
Good with Math and Geometry
Willing to listen, learn, ask, and try new things
