Job Summary
A cost engineer is responsible for projecting cost and expense reports for the production process, identifying and mitigating risks, and developing strategic techniques to reduce excessive financial loss for project buildings.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Review and familiarize yourself with the contract and determine the In-Scope and Out-Scope of a project
2. Review the provisions of the contract documents and spearhead the quantity rehash of every work item for comparison to the provision of the Approved Bill of Quantity (rehash of quantity must be with the aid of a Quantity Surveyor or staff from Operations)
3. Review the duties and responsibilities of the contractor and owner/client as per contract agreement
4. Review construction bulletins
5. Prepare the budgetary cost of the project and ensure that the project is within the approved budgetary cost
6. Responsible for the cost control and monitoring of the project (cost/risk/profit analysis, cash flow, PRS, PO, labor cost, etc.)
Qualifications
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
· Licensed Civil Engineer
EXPERIENCE:
· Must have at least 3-5 years of work experience in various construction projects, with exposure to managing projects related to the biggest clients in the country.
· Must have extensive knowledge of Contract Conditions, Health and Safety Regulations, Standard Guidelines and Specifications, and Local Authorities Requirements for construction projects.
· Must have precise knowledge of all aspects of engineering construction relating to Civil, Architectural, and Structural areas.
· Work experience must be related to construction projects such as, but not limited to, high-rise and medium-rise buildings, roads, bridges, ports, dams, etc.
· Must be highly experienced in construction projects.

· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Able to be organized so as to manage time, budget, expectations, paperwork, and people.
· Able to negotiate and communicate to resolve any conflicts.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office such as MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Powerpoint
· Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera, or other related software is an advantage
