Job Highlights:
Cost engineer provides and analyzes the requirements and specification of a project and determines the cost involved specific to product costing. Also, alleviates top management to make informed decisions about budget and timeline of the projects and work in a wide variety of projects to provide valuable insight regarding project costs, potential risks, and resource allocation.
Job Responsibilities:
· Understand the project requirements and objectives and develop the corresponding cost estimating models.
· Research, determine, and apply relevant methods for data gathering, analysis, and presentation to support the development of reliable cost estimating projects.
· Perform cost analysis, including parametric, bottom-up, and/or other types of cost estimation requirements.
· Perform detailed product unit costing (BOM, Consumption, MVA etc.) and able to provide immediate quotes to customers.
· Prepare comprehensive cost reports, presentations, and analysis to management.
· Interface with project managers, engineers, and other professionals to ensure accuracy of cost estimations.
· Review and validate cost to ensure billing accuracy.
· Monitor project expenditures and cost analysis to identify potential cost overruns.
· Assist in the development and implementation of cost-saving initiatives.
· Participate in project audits and reviews to provide input on cost-related matters.
Job Requirements:
· A bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Accounting or related field.
· At least 5 years' experience in cost engineering, project management or similar role related to soft goods manufacturing (i.e. bag, luggage, outdoor and sports gear) industry.
· Familiar with government regulatory compliance.
· Working knowledge of cost estimating methods and tools using advanced technology.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Driven and motivated with strong attention to detail.
· Structured organization skills, highly resourceful and dependable.
· Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Willing to be assigned outside the country.
