QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy/Finance or equivalent;
Strong Cost Accounting background;
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 3 or more years of related experience;
Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data;
Good communication skills (written, verbal and listening) required for the different culture;
Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications;
Ability to analyze and reconcile complex data;
Strong organizational skills;
Detail oriented;
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for TMA operations daily job closing;
Prepares and reviews production jobs closed transactions ensuring all cost inputs are reliable and timely processed before closing;
Engages with relevant staff in Logistics and Production to review processes for the correct recording of production inputs, identifying inefficiency and inaccuracy and reporting these to immediate manager;
Identifies and reports significant production job variances and assists the Plant Manager/Warehouse Manager to determine the cause;
Prepares weekly summaries of production job cost performance and comments on variances;
Responsible for ongoing review of jobs "Work in Progress" to determine the level of completion and therefore the validity of the job being actively in progress;
Assists the Senior Cost Accountant in reviewing the machine recovery rates from time to time for the purpose of accurate allocation of the cost to jobs and finished goods inventory;
Supports the Senior Cost Accountant with month-end closing duties such as inputting journals, preparing reconciliations and other ad hoc task that promotes timely completion of the monthly financial reports;
Supports and assists internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, and others;
Ensures timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management;
Contributes to ad hoc sales and cost of sales analysis exercises which may involve extracting data from the general ledger and/or sub-ledgers and preparing Excel reports.
