Job Description Successfully design, install, and commission the core transport equipment in network facilities locations to support voice, video and data. Work with OSP Engineers on design and specification for fiber optic facilities, in aerial and underground design. Support team troubleshooting efforts and address engineering inaccuracies. Specify procedures and requirements for the installation and turn up of all new transport equipment; prepare as-built, which include installed specifications and post-installation drawings. Prepare cost estimates for individual projects (Labor, materials, equipment and overhead) and submit data to management for authorization approval. Provide input for Project Appropriation Request and Work Orders to management.
Globe Telecom, Inc is looking for a Core Network and Facilities Management Engineer.
Location: NCR / San Juan
Qualifications:
1. Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Electronics Engineering
2. Licensed Electronics Engineers are preferred
3. Open to fresh grads with IT (Unix, AutoCAD, web based HTML, Visual Basic macro language, Python ) background
4. Must be amenable to work in San Juan for a shifting schedule.
Responsibilities:
. Performs shift routines, consolidates the output and performs
corrective measures when faults are detected.
. Performs the following corrective activities for Fault Tickets (FT)/
Work Order (WO) and network quality/performance issues endorsed by
Network Resource Centre (NRC)
. Performs 1st level troubleshooting of on-site issues
. Respond to system alarms as required to maintain system-switching
operation
. Provide support to Network Resource Centre (NRC),Field Operations
and Technical Support teams in evaluating and resolving service
issues.
. Troubleshoot customers' call processing issues
. Work with the NOC and TSG on tier 2 troubleshooting and other
technical issues.
. Implements technical solutions to problems as recommended by Host
Exchange Senior Engineers.
. Performs the following Quality related activities:
. Provide assistance to RNE in evaluating system optimization at the
Core side.
. Liaise between RNO, who monitors daily statistics and coordinate with
FO,CM to provide recommendation to maximize performance of system
. Assist in gathering data from the switch Operational Measurements for
next level support to determine problems and assist in the resolution.
. Recommends network resiliency programs based on results of
troubleshooting for submission to unit head for approval
. Escalates unresolved issues to Technical Support Team or other
applicable team within SLA
. Performs the following Preventive Maintenance tasks based on schedule:
. Conducts Preventive Maintenance to core elements
. Maintain and re-grooming of installed cables and wirings as per
standard
. Conduct routine housekeeping and 5S on all installed systems e.g.
periodic filter replacement.
