About this Role
The Content Specialist for Internal Communications (CS-IC) plans and executes internal communication strategies and tactics designed to keep employees informed, engaged, and inspired---with the ultimate goal of supporting the vision and mission, culture, and strategic business objectives of the company.
The CS-IC has a knack for finding opportunities within the company's internal communication dynamics and can devise strategies, execute action plans, and create tools to achieve communication goals. The role will have a passion for storytelling and the ability to understand and dissect complex messages and simplify them for our audiences.
The CS-IC is analytical and creative, possesses a self-starter mindset, exercises appropriate judgment, and delivers results in narrow time-frames. This specialist is passionate about helping create and supporting our company's unique culture and making it a fun place to work. This position will report to the Communications Team Lead and work closely and collaborate with other teams/departments/clusters (i.e., Marketing, HR, Operations, Engineering, etc.).
Essential Duties
- In collaboration with the Communications Team Lead, develop and implement effective internal communication strategies to drive employee engagement and alignment to our company Vision-Mission, culture, and business objectives.
- Drive information dissemination within the company on relevant updates from the different departments, such as product updates, marketing promotions, company metrics, and milestones, to keep employees informed and engaged.
- Create various forms of collateral, visual tools and efficiently use existing communications tools, at the same time exploring new ways to effectively communicate our messages.
- Provide communication guidance or inputs as requested by other teams/departments/clusters to improve their communication dynamics.
- Strictly abide by our company Style Guide and Branding Guidelines
- Foster good working relationships with stakeholders
- Provides assistance in other tasks or projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications Arts, English, Public Relations, Creative Writing, or a related field
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in the communications or public relations field demonstrating progressive development
- Proven experience in writing various types of content with some editing skills
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge in communication principles and best practices
- Experience in employee communication and stakeholder relations (internal & external)
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communications skills
- Good organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good working knowledge of Slack, Miro, Notion, Google Drive, Canva, and other tools
- A big plus: skills design, layout, photo and video-editing
