Roles and Responsibilities
The core responsibility of the Construction Engineer is to review the plans for all disciplines including architectural, civil, and MEPFS and review interfaces between trades.
The Construction Engineer is expected to accomplish the following tasks including performing overlays and identifying changes in plans, tracking issues and resolving it by tracking logs and planning mark-ups, identifying conflicts and gaps in plan, describing conflicts in RFI's to the Ownership and Design Team, utilising the constructability SOP, prioritising issues based on impact of the project and the most effective use of the Preconstruction Team's time, and participating in meeting with the owner and design team.
Required Experience
- More than 5 years of relevant experience
- More than 5 years of construction experience; QC Engineer or Architect
Minimum Qualifications
- Familiar with different types of building construction (i.e. Type 1; II; III; IV; V)
- Basic understanding of Owner Contracts
- Understanding of construction terminology, trades, trade sequencing and project types
- Understanding of construction schedules
A Successful Candidate must have
- English Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact productively with the team
- Efficiency - allocate one's own time efficiently; handle multiple demands and competing
priorities
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications and other construction documents
- Ability to electronically organize and maintain files
