COMPLIANCE BOOKKEEPER
Brief Description and Purpose of the Position
The Compliance Bookkeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and regulatory compliance of the organization by meticulously managing and reporting on various financial aspects. This role requires a keen understanding of taxation, financial reporting, and compliance procedures. The Compliance Bookkeeper is responsible for executing a range of tasks, including the preparation and reconciliation of external reports, management of withholding taxes, monitoring of assets, and ensuring compliance with permits and regulatory requirements.
 
Qualification Standards:
Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or Management Accounting
At least 1 year working experience in Accounting /Compliance Role
With Taxation/ BIR Training Course preferred but not required
Knowledge of any accounting systems 
Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant software applications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail. 
 
COMPETENCIES
Financial Reporting
Prepares monthly external financial reports (e.g. sales reports, collection reports, DMCM reports, disbursement reports, General Journal). 
Prepares monthly summary list of suppliers and customers for BIR Relief and Alphalist encoding.
Prepares quarterly summary Alphalist of withholding tax (SAWT) and its corresponding BIR Form 2307.
Prepares and reconciles EWT (Expanded Withholding Tax) as well as entry of input tax.
Prepares monthly lapsing schedules and secures supporting documents for fixed assets.
Prepares monthly government remittance reports (e.g. Philhealth, Pag-ibig, and SSS) and secures supporting documents. 
Prepares monthly monitoring reports of taxes and licenses (e.g. business permits, LTO accreditation, DTI accreditation). 
Prepares monthly documentary stamp tax computation for lease contract. [AP1] [AP2] [AP3] 
Secures annual BIR reportorial requirements for professional fees. 
Updates manual books of accounts
Provides ATP requirements for accountable forms printing 
Bookkeeping
Prepare monthly BU external reports (percentage tax sales report, DMCM)
Prepare and reconcile respective BU EWT and CMC EWT and Input Tax 
Monitoring of BU cash receipts and journal
Account Reconciliation
Demonstrate the ability to compare basic financial records, identify discrepancies, and seek guidance to resolve reconciliation issues.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensuring compliance to BIR, LGU, SEC, BOI, LTO Accreditation, DTI, PEZA, BOC and other regulatory requirements
Branch Compliance Monitoring
Monthly monitors branch manual books of account (cash receipts books and sales book)
Monitors branch lease contract 
Monitors branch LTO and DTI accreditation 
Data Entry
Accurate and efficient encoding of monthly, quarterly, and annual BIR Alphalist and Relief data.
Generate and validate data files from BIR Alphalist and Relief. 
Work Instruction Documentation
Prepares basic work instructions that demonstrate an understanding of accounting principles and follows established templates with guidance.
Customer Relations
Actively listens to client feedback and requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs and preferences.
Assists branches in the computation of EWT, VAT, and doc stamp.  
Articulates ideas, concepts, and choices clearly and effectively, fostering open and transparent communication with internal clients
Effective Collaboration
Demonstrates proper coordination with different teams and meeting deadline on time 
Properly analyzes and executes the requests and inputs of different departments
Listens attentively to colleagues' input and incorporates feedback into work.
Workplace Safety and Compliance
Demonstrates a strong understanding of security policies and consistently follows established guidelines for data protection and confidentiality.
Proactively identifies potential security risks related to assets, files, or sensitive information and takes appropriate measures to mitigate them.
Implements strong password practices, including regular updates and secure storage methods for access to software and files.
