ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking a Communications & Security Technology Estimator to start in January 2021 for our client based in Australia's Northern Territory. Our client has the advantage of over 20 years of communications and security technology experience, with technical confidence that comes from an expert team of communications, security, and IT Technicians. They service primarily commercial clients and see every job as an opportunity to deliver high quality workmanship in an environment where their customers, team, and partners create efficient and personalised solutions. The role will be required to work in alignment with the Australian Central Standard time zone which will be day shift.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU
KPIs:
Work closely with the Client to develop and streamline a complete estimating process from start to finish using SmartTrade and Government Bidding Systems;
Provide major inputs in developing processes and systems in conjunction with Management to improve the current company model; and
Work closely with your manager and admin team to achieve improvements in business processes with online systems.
Primary Tasks:
Provide accurate takeoff and estimating of projects, producing accurate material lists;
Review tender documentation and write RFT/RFP (Request for Tender or Proposal) responses and inform the office of any related queries;
Keep the office up-to-date, including current workload capacity, due dates of estimates, questions, or queries;
Review all correspondence and keep up good communications with the NT and QLD offices; and
Allocate your time effectively across different projects and tasks.
Requirements
Proven estimating knowledge as a Communications, Security Technology or Electrical Estimator who has been responsible for tendering/quoting a wide range of communication, security technology or electrical works;
Cabling, Security Technician or Electrical License and associated Diploma or Degree highly advantageous, but not essential;
Ability to work well in a team, balanced by the ability to work autonomously;
Good time management and planning skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
