Typical Team Size (dotted line reporting with full accountability for technical delivery): Roughly 10-20 software engineers. Your future duties and responsibilities: . Accountable for the technical architecture, design, and standards for software products for our client, partnering with product management to lead implementation. You'll champion building and improving our engineering culture which may include hands-on support for your team. . Provide technical leadership for several software products and support the engineers in those teams. In practice, this means you're accountable for application of strong architecture, design, and engineering practices. . Work closely with a wide range of business and IT stakeholders to ensure the correct day-to-day and strategic technical decisions are made, implemented, and documented. . Build and maintain motivated teams, ensuring that we recruit the right staff, and develop our staff to the best of their abilities . Protect the team and make sure the team collaborates, communicates, and focuses on what is most important via a disciplined and structured approach to engagement . Proactively manage dependencies, overcome obstacles, and get the best value against constraints, including ensuring that trade-offs or technical debt are properly articulated and managed. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Technical- . Strong knowledge of mature (C#/.NET), growth (Python, React) and emerging (Golang) technologies used in both green and brown field development. . Able to understand the existing Trading & Supply landscape, include ETRM systems (e.g. Endur) while overseeing a transformation in the technologies we used. Significant experience working on projects with a diverse range of data types - 'big data', high velocity streaming data including IOT, low latency event triggers, longitudinal time series data, etc. . Strong understanding of data management practices - data engineering and pipeline development, warehousing, storage, lifecycle management, privacy, security etc. . Hands on experience with data engineering tooling such as Databricks/Spark, Azure Data Factory. . Strong experience with service-based integrations with microservices experience highly preferable. Quality-built APIs and API lifecycle is important. . Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases. . Significant experience with Azure Functions, Web Apps, and distributed/ event-driven architecture (event hub, event bus, Kafka etc.), ELK, etc. . 5+ years experience with CI/CD delivery using Git/GitHub, VSTS/Azure DevOps, Terraform, Ansible, etc. . A standout candidate would have practical agile experience in both start-up and enterprise environments Functional- .
