I. JOB SUMMARY:
The Chief Collections Officer leads the Division of Collections, which are tasked in resolving outstanding accounts. He or she will also communicate with upper management by predicting trends and implementing collection strategies.
He or she will be responsible for the collection efforts within the charge-off portfolio and collection policy administration within Flexi Finance Asia Inc.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading the over all collection functions of the Division of Collections.
Designing and implementing processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables.
Developing policies regarding collections process.
Overseeing the negotiation and course of action taken for overdue accounts.
Working closely with the Head of Field Collections and Head of Soft Collections to ensure that the collection policies conform with the company collection policy and the Flexi Finance Asia Inc. policies, investor and regulatory requirement.
Managing of the Collection Division on daily collection follow-up of due and past due receivables, and cash applications.
Preparing weekly and monthly management reporting to measure the performance of the division to establish benchmarks and metrics.
Leading, monitoring, training and developing staff.
Ensuring compliance with all collection rules and regulations.
III. REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCE
Bachelor‘s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related fields.
MBA or Law Degree is a plus.
Strong knowledge of account reconciliation and deduction management procedures.
Experience working in a financial institution, knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools, and process management and optimization.
At least 10 years of experience handling the same function in a financial institution.
Ability to effectively supervise team members and work as a member of that team and organize and facilitate work activities for other members of the team.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Strong organizational, leadership, supervisory and managerial skills.
Creative thinking with initiatives and self-motivation.
Demonstrated coaching/mentoring skills and issue management problem solving skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; appropriately communicates with all levels of customers.
Ability to adapt to changing environment and support of multiple clients.
Ability to analyze/interpret credit and financial data and take appropriate action.
