Description
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide direct nursing care for specified patients, including appropriate supportive care and administration of chemotherapy, blood components, fluid and electrolyte replacements, and other oncology treatments as prescribed.
2. Perform nursing assessment and triage regarding patients' health concerns, treatment, diagnostic tests, medications, side effect and prioritized patient care needs.
3. Responsible for the administration and monitoring of the patient receiving chemotherapeutic drugs as ordered by physicians.
4. Work closely with the Oncologist with regards to assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care .
5. Care of intravenous devices (e.g., Micro Infusion Syringe Pump) and indwelling central venous catheters.
6. Explain the Patient Consent Form (PCF) to and obtain signature of the patient relative who serves as witness to the patient receiving treatment.
7. Train and guide other nursing and support staff, trainees, OJTs engaged in clinical activities (when required).
8. May act as a patient navigator or tumor registrar.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Registered Nurse (RN)
2. Experience in chemotherapy administration (preferred but not required)
3. Knowledge of oncology treatment procedures, facilities and equipment.
4. Knowledge of cytotoxic chemotherapy drugs
5. With IV training and Basic Life Support Training Certification
6. Fresh graduates are encourage to apply.
Work Location: Bay, Laguna (with staff housing provision)
