Petroleum chemists conduct research, improve or develop concepts, theories and operational methods, or apply scientific knowledge relating to petroleum chemistry, to develop new knowledge or products and for quality and process control.
Petroleum chemists are responsible for developing and improving oil based products, including fuel and polymers. They may be responsible for such tasks as developing catalysts for use in refining, and creating new polymers for fibers and resins.
Duties
Supports production installations regarding production chemical issues, scaling, emulsions, hydrates, asphaltenes, waxing, and any other process-related production chemical issues
Monitors usage of chemicals offshore and analyses against production/process data
Undertakes laboratory testing of samples sent from production installations
Manages study work relating to Production Chemistry and Flow Assurance Develops, blends, and tests chemical products
Undertakes research and development of new chemical products
Undertakes trouble-shooting on chemical-related production problems
Manages all areas of Environmental regulatory compliance concerning the use and discharge of chemicals
Reports any breaches of safety procedures to supervision/management
Actively participates in and promotes company health and safety campaigns, policies, and procedures, and ensures personal safety and that of colleagues at all times.

Driver's license: Motorcycle ,Car ,Passenger transportation vehicles
