The Central Grid Operations Principal Engineer, under the Inter-Region Power Exchange Management unit, is responsible for the following:
Responsibility 1: REAL-TIME INTERFACE WITH THE MARKET OPERATOR(MO)
Review and analysis of data exchange between SO and MO particularly on the system's security limits, over-riding constraints, contingency lists, outage lists, and its technical and commercial effect to real-time operations of the regional Grids;
Simulation of RTD released by MO, focusing on NSO's observability area affecting the capability of power exchange between regional Grids;
Review and analysis of RTD versus Actual reports from RCCs and dispatch deviation reports from RCCs.
Responsibility 2: PROCESS IMPROVEMENT POLICIES
Conceptualization of policies for further establishment of Central Grid Operations, with consideration to the existing guidelines, instructions, and other relevant rules and regulations of government regulating bodies (ERC, PEMC, DOE, among others) and IEMOP.
Research and development for the integration of external policies for the continuous improvement of governance between Central Grid Operations and RCCs.
Focal person of Central Grid Operations for process improvement projects initiated by other groups in NGCP.
Requirements:
Graduate of BS in Electrical Engineering
Registered Electrical Engineer as issued by the PRC
At least 3 years of relevant experience in power systems, electricity market
Knowledge in network operations is a plus
Skilled in technical writing
